In 1995, my husband, Larry, and I started a hobby making Barn Wood Birdhouses to sell at craft shows. Our products, which were also sold at the Bass Pro Shops, were a big hit.

One day I asked Larry to build me a bird feeder. We took the feeder to a local bird store in our home town and asked if they would be interested in purchasing them. They redirected us to a bird house distributing company in Larry's home town. The company wasn't interested in purchasing our bird feeders but presented their own business proposition for our consideration.

The owner took us to the side of his building and showed us a large 45 foot trailer full of lumber, partially built bird houses, saws and various pieces of woodworking equipment. He asked if we would be interested in putting shingles on the butterfly houses since the person doing that work had recently quit. We gladly accepted his offer.

Once we finished that project we made a deal with the owner to purchase all the woodworking equipment, lumber and patterns for an entire line of bird houses and bird feeders; and so began a brand new adventure in the bird house industry. For the next 13 years, the distributor sold our bird house products to over 3,000 stores across the United States and Canada.

In 2007, we answered the call of God on our lives and moved to Branson, Missouri and joined a Faith based church. We left our wood working operation to a man who was willing to continue the business for us, however, once we moved to Branson the man quit. Since we didn’t have the resources in Branson for a woodworking shop, our bird house adventure came to an end.

In 2008, the Lord began to speak to us about starting our business again and this time we would distribute and sell these wood products ourselves. We tried several different things but still nothing was happening. I sensed the Lord saying to me, “Do what I say and you will meet up with The Blessing.” We put our faith to work believing God to prosper us as we began to stand on the Word of God.

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient (possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation). After 2 years we discovered the Lord had something more for us than what we had been doing for the previous 13 years. Inspiration began to come from the Word of God and we began to see how much He had to say about the birds of the air and His creation. The Lord began to minister to us about applying the scriptures to our products.
